Overview
The purpose of this unit is to provide training on effective written and oral communication.
This will enable you to develop the skills to develop a script or presentation using a structured approach; overcome fears of speaking in public; understand how to use your voice effectively; improve the use of your voice; understand the basics of creative writing; improve your writing skills and help you analyse and improve your public speaking performances.
Curriculum
– Describe the fundamentals of communication and analyse their current level of confidence and ability.
– Demonstrate that they can use the techniques described in the ‘SCRIPT method’ to develop a ceremony script.
– Use and evaluate own voice skills and develop a plan for improving their public speaking.

Meet the Team
Laura Widdop – (Assessor) Laura has over 15 years of experience in delivering training in various sectors. She has been the Centre Manager and an Assessor with UKCAPSA for over 2 years. Laura is there to support to all candidates in any way she can.
Debbie Daly – (Assessor) Debbie successfully completed the Diploma 3 years ago and has been working as a Celebrant ever since. She loves to share her skills and knowledge with her candidates.
Evelyn Robertson – (Mentor) Evelyn has worked in the industry for many years, both with the local authority in Falkirk as a Registrar and in 2016 she became a Celebrant. It’s safe to say that there is little Evelyn doesn’t know about being a Celebrant!
George Smith – (Mentor) George has worked as a Celebrant for over 10 years conducting thousands of Weddings, Naming Days, and Funerals. George loves to support new Celebrants as they start their journey.
George McLean – (Mentor) George is an experienced Celebrant who loves working with couples and families to deliver the perfect ceremony. He is a Marketing whizz and loves to support new Celebrants with all their Marketing needs.
Marjorie Russell – (Mentor) Marjorie was one of the first candidates to complete the Diploma and has been working as a Celebrant ever since.

You do have to be committed time wise but its not difficult.
