When I turned 40 I fell in love with wedding ceremonies after my husband Allan and I enjoyed our Humanist wedding ceremony at Crieff Hydro on 21st May 2016 (Yes I got a husband for my 40th birthday!)
In 2020 I decided to go for it and Yvonne Hannah Celebrant was born. I signed up for the SQA certified UKCAPSA Celebrant and Public Speaking Diploma, qualified as a fully-fledged professional celebrant, and I have never looked back!
My professional background is marketing, recruitment, and sales. I worked in Marketing and Account Management for the first three years of my celebrant career delivering ceremonies part time.
Now, I am full time out in the celebrant world!
When the opportunity arose for me to share my knowledge and skills with aspiring celebrants as a UKCAPSA Trainer and Assessor, I grabbed it with both hands. I adore coaching and tutoring those looking to embark on their own celebrant journey. Seeing the candidates develop from Unit 1 through to Unit 7 is truly inspiring and I feel proud of every single one!
I am also the new Marketing and Brand Ambassador for UKCAPSA, so I still get to use my Marketing skills and creative flair to bring the academy to life online. Sharing this amazing training programme with others is exciting, it really can be life changing, I know this first hand having gone through it all myself as a candidate.
I love everything to do with celebrating the big milestones in life. I get to meet so many different people. No story is ever the same, every single one is unique.
Creating bespoke ceremonies for weddings, funerals and baby naming ceremonies is a pure joy and I always go that extra mile to make sure that every ceremony is special, being there for and guiding people along the way.
For me, what I do is so much more than just a job, it’s a pleasure, and something I picture myself doing for years to come – I honestly couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
